- One-size mat — visually designed for small to medium dogs. We recommend this mat for dogs up to about 35 lbs (examples: Beagles, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, small terriers).
- Quick fit check you can do in 1 minute: measure your dog’s shoulder width (widest point across the shoulders) and body length (from the base of the neck to the base of the tail). If your dog’s shoulder width is about 14 inches or less and body length is about 20 inches or less, this mat will be a comfortable fit for sniffing and slow-feeding sessions.
- How to measure: have your dog stand squarely, use a flexible tape or ruler, 1) shoulder width — measure across the top of the front shoulders, 2) body length — measure from where the collar sits at the back of the neck to the base of the tail. Record inches.
- Practical tip: place the mat on the floor and watch whether your dog can reach multiple scent pockets without having to step entirely off the mat. If they easily reach and can move their nose around the mat, the size is good.
- If your dog is larger than the recommended range, the mat still works for supervised enrichment but may be best used for short sessions or placed on a low table for easier access.
