How to measure your dog (quick):
- Measure chest width at the widest part (behind the front legs).
- Measure your dog’s length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail if you want them to lie on the mat.
- For snuffle mats: choose a mat that is at least as wide as your dog’s chest. If your dog likes to lie down while foraging, pick a mat equal to or longer than their measured length.
If your dog is a small breed or puppy (chest width under ~12 in), the 18.9–19.7 in mats are a comfortable fit. For dogs that stand but have a chest width close to or above 12–14 in, the mats still work for foraging but may not be roomy enough for full-body lying down.
